trublu® calibration device

Calibration (equilibration) of any measurement system is crucial to its accuracy.

As pressure is truly defined for liquids and gases, to accurately calibrate pressure, an air bladder system was designed by novel.

The trublu® calibration device provides a homogenous pressure across the sensor surface, throughout the entire measurement range.

The pedar® or pliance® software guides the process of calibration and each sensor element within the matrix is calibrated with its own calibration curve.

This method guarantees the accuracy of the absolute values measured, not only for the total force (dynamic body weight when speaking about the pedar® system), but also for the local load on each area of the measuring surface.

By utilizing this method, the body weight is determined by the pedar® system - not given by the user.

The system provides accurate and repeatable dynamic local pressure information for all of novel’s pedar® and pliance® sensors. The trublu® calibration device can be delivered with the pedar® or pliance® system and the user can test the accuracy of the equipment at any time.

All novel systems are delivered with calibrated measurement sensors. A similar process occurs on a much larger scale for our emed® family of measurement platforms.

This calibration is performed in-house by novel.

Calibration should be checked at least once a year.

At novel, our priority is to enable the highest quality in measurement and we strongly believe in art in science.
