pedar®

the gold standard for measuring pressure distribution inside footwear.

in-shoe pressure distribution measurement

The pedar® system is an accurate and reliable pressure distribution measuring system for monitoring local loads between the foot and the shoe.

The pedar® offers the ultimate versatility with its multiple standard features and operating modes.

The pedar® can be tethered to a PC via a fiber optic/USB cable. It can also function in a wireless capacity with its built-in Bluetooth® technology. And, as yet another alternative, the pedar® has SD card storage allowing data to be collected anywhere and later downloaded to the computer.

All of these features make the pedar® system extremely mobile and flexible to meet virtually all testing needs such as walking, running, climbing stairs, carrying loads, playing soccer, or even riding a bicycle. Therefore, the results are more applicable to real life scenarios.

The pedar® system connects to conforming, elastic sensor insoles that cover the entire plantar surface of the foot or sensor pads for the dorsal, medial or lateral areas of the foot.

The pedar® system allows multiple synchronization options to sync with other systems such as motion capture, EMG, etc.

All sensors in the pedar® insole are individually calibrated with the aid of the trublu® calibration device.

The pedar® software provides real-time feedback for peak pressure, force and area within footwear.

Flexibility in display of the real-time pressure pictures and graphs makes the software an ideal tool for clinical, research, or education.

Automatic storage of the data gives the user the ability to review previous data collections quickly and easily.

With the pedar® Expert software users can have access to the raw pressure and force data for use in their own analysis programs. Alternatively, the pedar® data can be analyzed with the novel scientific software.

The pedar® Recorder software option allows automatic synchronization between the pressure data and digital video collected to the same computer. This provides easy and immediate synchronized playback of the pressure and video data. This is very useful in providing gait or movement feedback to patient or athlete.
